Dr. Daniel Kopasker is a Research Fellow at the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, University of Glasgow. His work focuses on the intersection of health and labor market outcomes, particularly mental health. Prior to joining Glasgow in 2021, he worked at the Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) at the University of Aberdeen. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

Research Interests: Applied econometrics, policy evaluation, health economics, mental health, employment, and public health. His research investigates how employment relationships impact health over the lifecourse, with a focus on strategies to protect mental health and reduce health inequalities.
Articles Trends: His recent work examines income’s causal effects on health, taxation policies’ psychological impacts, cost-of-living crisis implications, and Universal Basic Income’s mental health effects. He uses microsimulation modeling and longitudinal studies to explore these themes, emphasizing policy relevance and socioeconomic determinants.
