Prof. Dr. Daniel Kaiser is a Professor for Neural Computation at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen. Previously, he held a postdoctoral position at the Department of Education and Psychology / Neurocognitive and Experimental Psychology lab until September 2019 and was a Lecturer at the University of York. His research focuses on neural computations underlying real-world vision, including predictive feedback mechanisms, individual differences in perception, and aesthetic experiences. Current funding includes ERC Consolidator and Starting Grants, as well as DFG support for projects like 'PEP' and 'Probing prefrontal influences on visual categories'.
Research Themes: The Kaiser Lab investigates how the brain transforms sensory input into meaningful experiences. Key areas include personalized priors in perception, rhythmic brain processes for efficient feedback, and the neural basis of aesthetic judgments. Collaborative grants involve the DFG, Hessian Ministry, and ERC.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Kaiser Lab at Justus-Liebig-Universität, which integrates neuroimaging and computational modeling. Previously contributed to interdisciplinary projects at the Neurocognitive and Experimental Psychology lab.
