Research Interests: Gil explores intersections between literature and theology in early modern England, particularly themes of secularization, sovereignty, and sexuality. His work challenges traditional narratives of intimacy by analyzing asocial sexual practices and their cultural implications. He employs Marxist and poststructuralist frameworks to interrogate power dynamics in Renaissance texts.
