Daniel J. Müller is a Full Professor of Biophysics at ETH Zurich's Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering since 2010. He served as Head of the Department (2021-2024) and co-directs the NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering (since 2014) and Basel Research Center for Child Health (BRCCH, since 2024).
Education: Physics Diploma (Technical University of Berlin, 1993), PhD in Biophysics (University of Basel, 1997), Habilitation in Biophysics (University of Basel, 2000).
Müller's research pioneers bionanotechnological tools for quantifying molecular interactions in living systems. His group develops single-molecule force spectroscopy and multiparametric nanoscopic imaging to study cellular mechanics, membrane protein dynamics, and neuronal reprogramming, revealing fundamental biological processes at molecular resolution.
