معرفی
Daniel Heath is Professor Emeritus at the University of Windsor's Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research and Department of Integrative Biology. His research applies genetic tools and field techniques to address fundamental questions in evolution, ecology and conservation biology within aquatic ecosystems.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Animal Science, University of British Columbia (1993)
- M.Sc. in Biology, McGill University (1985)
- B.Sc. in Physics, McGill University (1981)
His interdisciplinary research spans molecular genetics, population dynamics, and environmental assessment, with significant contributions to understanding species adaptation in changing aquatic environments. Current projects focus on environmental DNA applications for ecosystem monitoring and developing genomic tools for conservation prioritization.
He directs the Great Lakes Institute's research initiatives on aquatic biodiversity and ecosystem health, coordinating large-scale studies on the impacts of environmental change on fish populations and microbial communities in freshwater systems.
