He serves as Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship, focusing on interstitial lung disease education and outpatient pulmonary management. His clinical interests span interstitial lung diseases, medical education innovation, and hematologic malignancies in intensive care settings.
Dr. Guck completed his DO at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (2012-2016), followed by Internal Medicine residency (2016-2019) and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship (2019-2022) at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He holds board certifications in Critical Care (2022), Pulmonary Disease (2021), and Internal Medicine (2019).
His research explores environmental factors influencing respiratory diseases, ICU patient outcomes, and toxicology. Notable work includes studies on sarcoidosis epidemiology and myelodysplastic syndrome management in critically ill patients. He received the 2023 Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching, recognizing his contributions to medical education.
Key areas of investigation include:
- Air pollution's role in respiratory disease incidence
- Geographic patterns of sarcoidosis prevalence
- Prognostic factors in hematologic malignancies requiring ICU care
- Toxic substance effects on renal systems
His publications emphasize translational research linking environmental exposures to clinical outcomes while maintaining a focus on improving critical care education and patient care standards.
