Daniel Glasscock is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), part of the Kennedy College of Sciences. His research focuses on additive combinatorics, ergodic theory, fractal geometry, and dynamical systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from The Ohio State University (2017) and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Central European University (2011). Prior to UML, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University (2017–2019).
His academic trajectory includes a B.A. in Mathematics from Rice University (2005), studies at the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics (2007–2008), and participation in research programs at Trinity University (2008). He teaches courses such as Calculus III (Honors), Discrete Mathematics, and Senior Seminar, emphasizing rigorous mathematical reasoning and applications.
Key research contributions include work on Følner density in amenable semigroups, dynamically syndetic sets, and additive transversality of fractal sets. He has published in journals like Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Acta Arithmetica, and Combinatorica, and collaborates internationally with scholars such as Joel Moreira and Florian Richter. His teaching resources include problem sets for analysis courses and peer evaluation rubrics.
Glasscock’s research explores intersections between combinatorics, dynamics, and geometry, with applications to number theory and fractal structures.
