Prof. Dr. Daniel Girsberger is a tenured Professor of Swiss and International Private Law, Business Law, Procedural Law, and Comparative Law at the University of Lucerne's Faculty of Law. He serves as Chairman of the University’s Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR). A founding member of the Faculty of Law (since 2001), he holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University and is a member of the Swiss and Zurich Bar Associations. His career includes roles as a teaching assistant and adjunct professor at the University of Zurich (1987–1997), and research affiliations with the Max-Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg. Since 2015, he has advised the Swiss Federal Council on revisions to the Swiss Private International Law Act. From 2010–2015, he chaired the Hague Conference’s Working Group on Choice of Law in International Commercial Contracts.
