Daniel Gilbert is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois, holding dual appointments in the School of Labor and Employment Relations and the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory. His work bridges labor history, cultural studies, and sports history, examining intersections between workplace dynamics and athletic culture.
Education: Ph.D. from Yale University and B.A. from Wesleyan University. Research focuses on public employee unionism, sports in the American workplace, and labor movements in professional sports. Awards include the John T. Dunlop Scholar Award (2018) and Baseball Research Award (SABR).
