Daniel Gero is an academic surgeon affiliated with the University of Zurich’s Faculty of Medicine and works as a consultant surgeon (Oberarzt) at the Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery Center, Department of Visceral Surgery and Transplantation, University Hospital Zurich. His research focuses on minimally invasive surgery, bariatric metabolic surgery, and digital health initiatives.

He contributes to the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) at the University of Zurich, particularly within the DSI Community Health. His clinical leadership includes responsibility for the bariatric metabolic surgery program.
