Daniel Ellman is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Externships at Wayne State University Law School. He teaches courses including Criminal Law, Holistic Defense Externship, and Judicial Externship. Previously, he worked as a public defender at the Bronx Defenders, focusing on holistic defense and intersections with immigration, housing, employment, and family law. He clerked for the Hon. Richard H. Bernstein on the Michigan Supreme Court and taught at the University of Michigan and as a bilingual fifth-grade teacher.
