Daniel Conner

Daniel Conner is a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Languages & Culture at Purdue University. He specializes in Classics and Latin literature, with particular focus on Imperial Literature and Latin epic poetry.

• Education: PhD and MA in Classics (University of Washington), BA in Classical Studies (Willamette University)

His research centers on Latin epic poetry (especially Silius Italicus), Neoteric poetry, and Neo-Latin poetry. He also participated in a classical seminar in Rome (2016) through the University of Washington Rome Center.

Scientific awards include:

• Presidential Fellowship (2013-18)
• Phillip and Estelle DeLacy Fellowship (2016)
• Graduate Recognition Award (2015)

As an award-winning undergraduate teacher, he teaches Latin language, literature/culture courses, and contributes to Purdue’s Cornerstone program with writing and research instruction.
