Daniel C. Kurtzer serves as the S. Daniel Abraham Visiting Professor in Middle East Policy Studies at Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs. A former U.S. Ambassador to Israel and Egypt with 29 years of Foreign Service experience, he played pivotal roles in Middle East peace processes including the Madrid conference and subsequent bilateral/multilateral negotiations.
His academic credentials include:

Kurtzer's research centers on Arab-Israeli conflict resolution, U.S. diplomatic strategy in the Middle East, and mediation frameworks. His publications—including 'Negotiating Arab-Israeli Peace' and 'The Peace Puzzle'—critically analyze America's leadership in peace processes from 1989-2011, examining multilateral negotiation dynamics and the interplay between domestic politics and international mediation through the lens of his frontline diplomatic experience.
Post-government service, he contributed to national policy as a member of Secretary of State John Kerry's Foreign Affairs Policy Board and advisor to the Iraq Study Group. In 2007, he pioneered sports diplomacy as the inaugural Commissioner of the Israel Baseball League.
