Dr. Daniel Buckles is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University, Ottawa. His work focuses on participatory action research (PAR) addressing food security, agricultural biodiversity, and land tenure conflicts in Asia and Latin America, alongside urban environmental issues in Canada. He holds a PhD from Carleton University.
Current research includes tribal land rights in India, tobacco economics in Bangladesh, food insecurity responses in Honduras, and methodological advancements in participatory research design. He has co-authored influential works such as A Guide to Collaborative Inquiry and Social Engagement (2008) and Food Sovereignty and Uncultivated Biodiversity in South Asia (2007).
