Daniel Bias is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University. Previously, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Finance at Stockholm School of Economics and the Swedish House of Finance, where he contributed to the Wallenberg Lab’s research on the economic implications of declining public firms.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Finance from Technical University of Munich (TUM)
- Visited University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) during his Ph.D.
Research Interests:
- Entrepreneurial Finance: Examines capital access for startups, venture capital dynamics, and innovation ecosystems.
- Labor & Finance: Explores intersections between financial markets, labor markets, and human capital investments.
- Wallenberg Lab Focus: Studies the macroeconomic effects of reduced public firm activity.
Publications: Recent work includes analyses of IPO decisions, talent management in family firms, and cross-border venture capital flows. These studies span conferences like MFA, FMA, and Columbia PE, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement.
