Her interdisciplinary background bridges the sciences and humanities, informing her distinctive approach to historical and philosophical analysis.
Her research focuses on the emergence of experimental philosophy in the early modern period, examining how philosophical thought intersected with scientific practices. She explores Renaissance philosophy and the survival of classical traditions, particularly Stoicism. Her work combines History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) perspectives with detailed historical analysis of key figures including Francis Bacon, Seneca, Descartes, and Isaac Newton. Dr. Jalobeanu pays special attention to the methodological aspects of early scientific experimentation and the philosophical frameworks that supported them.
Analysis of Dr. Jalobeanu's recent publications reveals a consistent focus on Francis Bacon's methodological contributions to early modern science, with increasing attention to Roman Stoicism and philosophical practices in recent years. Her work demonstrates how early modern thinkers developed experimental approaches that bridged theoretical philosophy and practical scientific investigation. She examines the material culture of experimentation, including instruments, recipes, and laboratory practices, while also exploring the philosophical dimensions of these activities.
