Daniela Jalobeanu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Bucharest and serves as the director of the Institute for Research of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) Humanities Division. She was trained as a theoretical physicist and earned her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bucharest, focusing on early modern philosophy.

Her research explores the emergence of early modern experimental philosophy through a History, Philosophy, and Sociology (HPS) perspective, integrating history of science and philosophy. She specializes in Renaissance philosophy, the survival of the classical tradition (particularly Stoicism), and has edited Francis Bacon's philosophical works in Romanian and contributed to the Oxford Francis Bacon series.
Jalobeanu co-edits the Journal of Early Modern Studies and co-organizes the Princeton-Bucharest seminar in early modern philosophy. She currently leads the European Society for History of Science as president.
Her roles include administrative leadership at ICUB-Humanities and previous academic positions at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Western University Vasile Goldis, Arad, Romania, and science editing for BBC World Service, Romanian Section.
