Dan Younger is a Professor of Art and former chair of the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He has been teaching since 1978 and focuses on photography, digital media, and illustration. His work critiques human behavior in public spaces through themes like tourism, childhood, and urban decay.
Younger’s research includes abandoned landmarks (e.g., Grover Cleveland High School), tourist photography, and children’s play. His exhibitions span museums globally, including the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago) and Diaphne in France. He co-curated comic books now held by the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and the London Cartoon Museum.
His media credits include set designs for TV shows like The Biggest Loser and Meet the Newlyweds. He teaches advanced photography seminars and courses in art history and comics. Professional memberships include the Royal Photographic Society and the Society for Photographic Education.
