Dr. Dan S. Gombos, MD, FACS is a professor and section chief in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He holds joint appointments as Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine (Departments of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics Patient Care) and Clinical Professor at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. His clinical and research focus centers on ocular oncology, particularly retinoblastoma, uveal melanoma, and other intraocular and conjunctival malignancies.
Dr. Gombos trained at Stanford University School of Medicine (MD 1994), Scheie Eye Institute (Ophthalmology Residency 1989), and completed fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco (Heed Fellow 1999) and Moorfields Eye Hospital (2000). He co-founded the Retinoblastoma Center of Houston, collaborating with Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers and Houston Methodist Hospital to oversee surgical care for retinoblastoma patients.
