Bibiana J. Reiser, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, affiliated with Keck Medicine of USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). She specializes in pediatric anterior segment surgery, with dual fellowship training in adult and pediatric corneal and refractive surgery, and glaucoma. Her expertise includes high-volume pediatric corneal transplantation and laser vision correction in children, leveraging CHLA’s dedicated in-operatory excimer laser system for procedures under general anesthesia. Dr. Reiser graduated from the Keck School of Medicine in 2001 and completed her residency at UCI Medical Center.
Her research focuses on pediatric corneal transplant rejection mechanisms, physiologic cupping in pediatric optic nerves, and pediatric refractive surgery efficacy. She investigates aqueous humor biomarkers in ocular cancers like retinoblastoma and uveal melanoma, advancing liquid biopsy techniques. Dr. Reiser teaches residents at USC and has received the Knights Templar Educational Foundation Grant for her contributions to surgical innovation and education.
Her publications span over two decades, emphasizing pediatric ophthalmology, molecular diagnostics, and imaging technologies. She is a key member of CHLA’s ophthalmology team, pioneering telemedicine approaches and advancing surgical techniques for children with complex ocular conditions.
