- Education: Ph.D. (Learning/Cognition & Statistics/Research), University of Nebraska
Dr. Robinson has taught at Mississippi State University, University of South Dakota, University of Louisville, and University of Texas. He has been Editor of Educational Psychology Review since 2006 and sits on nine journal editorial boards. His 2013 keynote at the International Cognitive Load Theory Conference highlighted how introducing 'desirable difficulties' (e.g., disfluent text, spaced practice) can paradoxically boost long-term retention despite short-term challenges.
- Awards: Fulbright Scholar
His work bridges CLT’s goal of minimizing extraneous load with 'desirable difficulties' that intentionally elevate cognitive challenges to deepen learning. Grants and advisory roles are implied through his extensive editorial and institutional leadership roles.
