Dan Jasinski is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Northampton, where he joined in January 2023. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2015 and specializes in teaching and researching legal programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His primary research focuses on the technological enhancement of jury trials and its impact on justice, particularly examining the integration of digital tools in criminal proceedings.
Education: PGCE in Academic Practice (University of the West of England, 2019), PG Dip. Bar Professional Training Studies (2015), LLM in International Banking and Finance Law (2014), and LLB Law (2012). External roles include serving as an External Examiner at Swansea University since December 2021, Kingston University (2020–2021), and Liverpool John Moores University since 2018.
Research interests center on criminal trial procedures, technology in legal systems, and justice outcomes. Key projects include observational analyses of technology use in English courtrooms and studies on responsibility for risk in legal contexts. He has presented on topics such as evidential challenges in technologically enhanced trials and the ethical implications of virtual justice systems at academic conferences in 2023–2024. Current projects emphasize observational research to assess the quality of justice in tech-augmented court environments.
