Dr. Dan Fassnacht is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He co-leads the Be Well Lab, a collaboration with the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), which develops scientifically validated digital tools for mental health. The lab was a 2022 finalist for SA's Innovator of the Year Award.
His research focuses on technology-driven behavioral change interventions for mental health improvement, including internet/mobile tools for anxiety, depression, OCD, and eating disorders. Dr. Fassnacht has secured over $1.2 million in research grants and has published extensively with 50+ peer-reviewed works. Awards include the Innovation in Learning and Teaching Award (2022) and Teaching Excellence Award (2021) from Flinders University.
He teaches Psychology of Health and Wellbeing (PSY306) and Professional Practice of Psychology (PSY402), and coordinates Honors programs. Professional memberships include the Society for Mental Health Research and Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.
