Dr Jamie-Lee Pennesi is a Research Fellow in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University. She also holds membership in the Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing. With over a decade of experience in eating disorders as both clinician and researcher, her work focuses on intervention development, body image research, and longitudinal studies of disordered eating behaviors across diverse populations.
- Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology (Flinders University, 2018), BPsych(Hons) (Flinders University, 2014)
Her research spans eating disorders, body image, and disordered eating behaviors with emphasis on:
- Risk/protective factors
- Prevention strategies
- Treatment personalization
- Sexual orientation influences
- Longitudinal behavioral analysis
Recent publications focus on pediatric early warning systems and digital health interventions. She has received multiple awards including the Flinders University Best Research Higher Degree Student Publication (2016) and University of Louisville Research & Creative Activity Award (2022-23). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals in mental health and well-being.
