Professor Dan Batchelor is a Senior Lecturer in Internal Medicine at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Liverpool. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 1997 and rejoined Liverpool's Veterinary School in 2002. His 2010 PhD in molecular physiology focused on intestinal glucose transporters in dogs and cats, linking their regulation to diabetes mellitus and obesity mechanisms.
