Damien Fleming Frame

Damien Fleming Frame serves as a Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow within the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Engineering. As a senior member of the Energy for Development research group in the Institute for Energy and Environment, he has dedicated over ten years to advancing sustainable electricity access in Malawi through technical innovation and partnership development with local institutions.

His research concentrates on rural electrification systems with specific expertise in off-grid solar PV deployment, smart local energy networks, power system planning, and low-voltage distribution analysis. Frame's work bridges engineering solutions with socio-economic considerations to create viable business models for underserved communities, directly contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).

Analysis of his 2023-2025 publications reveals a strategic focus on Malawian energy challenges, particularly solar mini-grid sustainability, demand estimation methodologies, and data-driven frameworks for system optimization.
