Prof. Dalit Ben-Yosef serves as the Scientific Director of the Fertility and IVF Institute at Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and is a Full Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Sackler Medical School, Tel Aviv University. She also holds a dual appointment at the Sagol School of Neuroscience and serves on the Israeli Ministry of Health advisory committee for IVF technologies.
Her research deciphers early human embryo development using human embryonic stem cells (hESC) derived directly from diseased embryos. She differentiates these cells into specialized cell types and organoids to investigate genetic disease mechanisms, while integrating deep learning, data visualization, and advanced RNA sequencing to analyze developmental processes and pathological deviations.
She directs a research laboratory focused on modeling human development and genetic disorders through stem cell technologies, with applications aimed at improving understanding of embryonic pathologies and advancing regenerative medicine approaches.
