Dr Dalida Agri is affiliated with the University of Manchester and previously served as a Lecturer in Greek Language & Literature at the University of Birmingham (2018–2020). Her research focuses on Graeco-Roman epic, ancient ethics, Stoicism, gender studies, political thought, and the history of ideas. She explores themes such as intertextuality, gender dynamics, and philosophical influences in classical texts like Statius’ Thebaid and Silius Italicus’ Punica.
Her recent work includes contributions to edited volumes on Euhemerism, gender diversity in antiquity, and the cultural history of media in antiquity. Current projects involve co-editing A Cultural History of the Media in Antiquity, with a focus on Roman consumption of media. Agri’s scholarship bridges classical literature, philosophy, and gender studies, offering fresh insights into ancient ethical and political frameworks.
Key publications analyze Flavian epic intertextuality, transgendering Virtus in Roman poetry, and Stoic influences on ancient narratives. She has also explored representations of frontiers and symbolism in Apollonius Rhodius and Valerius Flaccus’ Argonautica.
