Dalia Iskander is an Associate Professor in Medical Anthropology at the Department of Anthropology, University College London (UCL). Her work bridges medical anthropology, visual methods, and participatory-action research, with regional expertise in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the UK.
- Education: PhD and MSc in Medical Anthropology (University of Oxford); BSc in Archaeology and Anthropology (University of Oxford).
Research Interests include:
- Structural factors shaping health (land-use, climate change, malaria, nutritional diseases)
- Creativity and health, particularly miniature craft practices in the UK
- Visual and sensory ethnography, photovoice, and participatory methods
- Debt and health poverty traps in climate-vulnerable Cambodia
