Dale Weigt is a Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. His research focuses on X-ray astronomy, planetary science, and solar physics. He holds a Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Southampton (2022) and a Master's degree from the University of Glasgow (2018).
His research interests include studying Jupiter's magnetosphere, solar dynamics, and magnetic flux emergence. He has contributed to projects such as the SURROUND cubesat constellation and the Line Emission Mapper (LEM). Weigt has been awarded the MSCA Seal of Excellence (2024) and has collaborated on datasets exploring jovian X-ray emissions and solar observations.
Recent activities include presenting at conferences like the European Space Weather Week and participating in site visits to research observatories. His work bridges astrophysics, space weather, and planetary science, with a focus on observational and diagnostic techniques.
