Daisy Delogu is the Howard L. Willett Professor of French Literature at the University of Chicago's Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. Her research focuses on medieval literature, particularly how texts shape individual and collective identity, gender dynamics, and political power in late medieval France. She holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (2003) and has been affiliated with the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality and the Committee on Medieval Studies.
Her major works include Allegorical Bodies: Power and Gender in Late Medieval France (2015) and Theorizing the Ideal Sovereign (2008). A current project, The Political Pastoral, explores political discourse through pastoral imagery in 14th-15th century texts. She co-edited an MLA volume on the Roman de la Rose, enhancing accessibility for instructors and students.
Delogu teaches over 20 courses, emphasizing medieval literature, gender studies, and French cultural history. Notable courses include Medieval Beasts, Voix féminines dans la littérature française, and core programs in Paris. She won the Albert W. Fields Award (2013) for her article on language and political identity in medieval France. Active in the Collegiate Scholars Program, she mentors students transitioning to the University of Chicago.
