Renée-Claude Breitenstein is an Associate Professor of French at Brock University, specializing in 16th-century French literature, rhetoric, and gender studies. She holds a PhD from McGill University. Her research examines the intersection of print culture, reception studies, and textual analysis, particularly focusing on collections in praise of women in Renaissance France. She co-edited the anthology Éloges collectifs de femmes à la Renaissance française (2021) and serves as Associate Editor of Renaissance and Reformation/Renaissance et Réforme. Courses taught include French literature and composition from medieval to early modern periods. Her work bridges historical and gendered analyses of Renaissance texts, emphasizing how print culture shaped representations of women.
