Dr. Daisy Chung is a Senior Lecturer in Management at Bayes Business School, City, University of London. She holds a PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and previously served as a Lecturer at Bayes Business School (2014–2019). Her research focuses on organization theory, organizational behavior, and qualitative methods, examining technical work in sociopolitical contexts such as regulatory environments and occupational communities. Notable projects include studies on biodiesel field regulation, technology firm recruitment practices, and safety culture in frontline work.
Dr. Chung teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on management and strategic change, and received the 2016 Staff Recognition Award for teaching excellence. She actively participates in academic leadership roles, including co-leading the Academic Women's Group and serving as admissions tutor for the Executive PhD program. She contributes to editorial boards of journals like Strategic Organization and reviews for Organization Science and Administrative Science Quarterly.
Her research on frontline workers' epistemic authority and safety culture in UK railways explores how embodied knowledge and occupational expertise shape safety practices. She also investigates jurisdictional change, organizational control, and leadership in healthcare systems.
