Daian Bica

Daian Bica is a doctoral student and Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. He holds a Master of Arts in Analytical Philosophy (University of Bucharest, 2019–21) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (University of Bucharest, 2016–19).

His research focuses on the intersection of scientific theory and metaphysics, particularly perspectival realism and the metaphysics of laws of nature. He critically examines the spectrum between scientific pluralism and realism, using Barry Loewer's package deal approach to explore stable middle positions in the realism-antirealism debate.

Bica’s publications emphasize historical perspectives on laws of nature and mechanical philosophy in early modern science. His work engages with Neo-Humean metaphysics, the governance of scientific practices, and the evolution of perspectival realism.
