Dagmar Stoiber-Sakaguchi

Dagmar Stoiber-Sakaguchi is a Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the Karl Landsteiner Private University of Health Sciences (KL). She leads a research group focused on molecular mechanisms in cancer, particularly within hematopoietic and solid tumors. Her work is highly collaborative, involving close partnerships with the Department of Molecular Oncology and Hematology, University Hospital Krems, and MedAustron.

The core of Professor Stoiber-Sakaguchi's research lies in translational cancer biology, with a strong emphasis on the JAK/STAT signaling pathway. Her group investigates the distinct roles of STAT3 isoforms (STAT3α and STAT3β) in acute myeloid leukemia and other hematopoietic diseases, aiming to develop personalized therapies.
