Dr Dafydd Daniel is a Lecturer in Divinity at the School of Divinity, University of St Andrews. Previously, he held roles as McDonald Lecturer in Christian Ethics and Director of Applied Theology at the University of Oxford. He holds a BA from the University of Cambridge, a Master's from Yale University Divinity School, and a DPhil from Oxford. His research focuses on theological ethics, historical theology, and Enlightenment studies, with a particular emphasis on the Scottish Enlightenment. He has authored books such as Conscience and the Age of Reason and edited journal special issues on topics like land ownership and Scottish identity. Dr Daniel is a BBC and AHRC New Generation Thinker, contributing to radio documentaries and public engagement projects. His current projects include a book on philosophical theology and a grant-funded study on Scottish land ownership.
