Daniel Lanero Taboas is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), based in the Department of History within the Faculty of Geography and History. His research focuses on contemporary history, particularly agrarian and political dynamics in rural Spain during the 19th and 20th centuries. He is affiliated with the HISTAGRA research group (Agrarian and Political History of the Rural World) and the Interuniversity Research Center for Atlantic Cultural Landscapes (CISPAC).
He earned his Doctorate from USC in 2005 with a thesis titled *Francoist agrarian unionism in the province of Pontevedra (1936-1975)*, supervised by Dr. Lourenzo Fernández Prieto. His work examines labor movements, state-society relations, and socio-political structures under authoritarian regimes.
His research integrates archival analysis with interdisciplinary approaches, contributing to debates on rural modernization, collective organizations, and the legacy of Francoism. He has published extensively on topics such as agricultural cooperatives, political mobilization, and regional historiography in Galicia and beyond.
