Miguel Cabo Villaverde

Miguel Cabo Villaverde is an Associate Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He holds a PhD in History from USC, with a thesis titled A integración política do pequeno campesiñado: o caso galego no marco europeu, 1890–1939, supervised by Prof. Lourenzo Fernández Prieto (1999). His research focuses on rural and social history, including collective action, rural associations, and politicization, with current emphasis on the history of agrarian parties in Europe.

His academic contributions include studies on rural violence, Galician regional identity, and international peasant movements. He is involved in projects such as Violence, delinquency and conflict in times of peace and war in the rural world, 1850–1980 and Consolidation and structuring of the Agrarian History and Politics of the Rural World (HISTAGRA).

His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary social dynamics, contributing to debates on rural transformation and political mobilization in Europe.
