Dr. D.J. Culp is Associate Professor of Instrumental Music Education and Commercial Music at Union University. His teaching encompasses drumkit, orchestral percussion, conducting, and music theory.
As conductor of the Union University Symphonic Band and director of the basketball band, he maintains an active performance schedule with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Culp researches characteristics of expert middle school band rehearsals, music assessment strategies, and philosophical inquiry in music education.
