D. Cole Payne is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Appalachian State University. He earned a B.S. from Radford University (2021) and an M.A. from Appalachian State (2023), where his directed research focused on progressive casino game betting systems. After graduate studies, he taught high school while coaching track, varsity basketball, and theater teams before returning to Appalachian as faculty.
