César Rodríguez-Garavito

César Rodríguez-Garavito is a Senior Fellow in the Melbourne Law Masters program at the University of Melbourne and co-director of the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU School of Law. As Editor-in-Chief of Open Global Rights, he bridges academic research with human rights advocacy.

His scholarly work examines:

• Litigation strategies for socioeconomic rights enforcement
• Judicial activism in the Global South
• Business and human rights frameworks
• Climate justice litigation

He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, a Master of Arts in Law & Society from NYU, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the National University of Colombia, and a Juris Doctor from the University of the Andes.

His publications include books such as Litigating the Climate Emergency and Radical Deprivation on Trial, analyzing how legal mobilization can advance climate action and socioeconomic rights.
