Czarena Crofcheck is a Professor in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky's Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. She joined the faculty in 2001 and has held positions as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Her research focuses on bioprocessing including biofuels, fermentation, algae cultivation, and downstream processing.
She teaches courses in Probability and Statistics, Senior Seminar, and Brewing Science and Technology. Dr. Crofcheck has received multiple teaching awards at departmental, college, university, and national levels. She serves as faculty advisor for the ASABE Student Branch and is Program Coordinator for the Distillation, Wine, and Brewing Certificate.
As a Faculty Fellow of the James B. Beam Institute and Co-PI for the $24 million NSF-EPSCoR CLIMBS grant, she coordinates workforce development initiatives focused on climate resilience through multidisciplinary data science education and outreach programs.
