Cyrille HARPET

Cyrille HARPET is a Professor at EHESP (École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique) in the Department of Health, Environment, Work and Sanitary Engineering. He holds a PhD in epistemology and philosophy of sciences from Lyon 3 University, a DEA in social anthropology from Lyon 2 University, and additional qualifications in biological anthropology and environmental management. His research focuses on environmental health, urban planning, risk perception, and social inequalities. He has led numerous projects, including studies on urban health risks, industrial ecology, and the integration of public health into urban development. He teaches courses on environmental health risks, project management, and ethics in public health at EHESP and other institutions like INSA Lyon and University of Shanghai. HARPET is affiliated with research units like UMR 6051 ARENES and UMR 5600 EVS, contributing to interdisciplinary studies on health-environment interfaces.

Research Interests: Urban health, risk perception, environmental justice, sustainable development, and the social dimensions of environmental policies. His work bridges anthropology, engineering, and public health to address waste management, chemical exposure risks, and territorial health disparities.

Recent Projects: Includes the EITANS project on industrial ecology, RISKMANCHE on shellfish consumption risks, and CLoterreS analyzing local health contracts. He co-authored guides like Agir pour un urbanisme favorable à la santé and contributed to policy frameworks integrating health into urban planning.
