Cynthia Sherman

Cynthia Sherman is a Senior Lecturer of Education at The Academy, University of Texas at Tyler. She holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from UT Tyler and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Saint Francis University. Her professional background includes extensive experience in public school teaching and teacher education.

Her research and professional interests focus on Mathematics education, Science teaching methodologies, Cognitive Coaching, Professional Learning Communities, and Mentoring practices. She has been recognized with the University of Texas System Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award.

Dr. Sherman teaches courses such as Teaching Skills for the Elementary Teacher, Mathematics and Science Pedagogy, Classroom Management, and Educational Psychology. She emphasizes instilling passion for education in her students, believing in the transformative impact of teaching on future educators.
