معرفی
Curtis R. Menyuk is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). His research focuses on nonlinear optics, photonics, and microresonator-based systems, with an emphasis on frequency combs, solitons, and thermal management. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physics from UCLA (1981) and MIT (1976), respectively, alongside a B.S. in Physics from MIT (1976).
Dr. Menyuk’s work spans advanced topics such as Kerr microcomb synchronization, photodetector optimization, and numerical modeling of optoelectronic devices. His recent publications address challenges in phase noise mitigation, thermal noise reduction, and soliton dynamics in integrated photonics. He leads research on microresonator physics, plasmonic devices, and high-performance photodetectors for frequency comb applications.
His technical contributions include innovations in optical frequency division, parametric synchronization of cavity solitons, and machine learning-driven design of nonlinear photonic systems. His lab develops cutting-edge tools for simulating soliton interactions, thermal instabilities, and nonlinear wave phenomena in photonic platforms.
