Csaba Zsebők

Csaba Zsebők is a Professor at the Department of Communication and Media Sciences within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Károli Gáspár Reformed University. He previously served as a College Professor at Wekerle Sándor Business College. His academic work spans history, media studies, and political relations in Central Europe and the Balkans.

His research focuses on the history of communication and media, political history, interethnic relations in Central Europe and the Balkans, diplomatic history, history of education, and journalism. These interests are deeply rooted in historical analysis and informed by archival diplomatic sources, particularly from Hungarian-Bulgarian relations during the interwar period.

His academic service includes membership in the editorial board of Acta Wekerleensis (2017–2022) and participation as an external researcher in the National Remembrance Committee (2015–2021). He has engaged in long-term research collaborations with institutions in Bulgaria, including the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Institute for Historical Studies) and the Macedonian Institute of Science in Sofia.

He has been recognized with several honors:

• Golden Pen Award (2022)

Csaba Zsebők has held numerous academic leadership and service roles, including Head of Department, full member of the Senate, scientific secretary, and Chair of the Equal Opportunities Committee at Wekerle Sándor Business College (2016–2022). He has also contributed to curriculum development and student research preparation, notably in organizing OTDK (National Conference of Scientific Students' Associations) preparations at KRE. He is a member of the Hungarian Writers' Association and the Hungarian–Bulgarian Joint Academic History Commission.

He conducts research in collaboration with international institutions in Bulgaria and participates in mobility projects focused on historical studies. His academic network supports cross-border historical dialogue and scholarly cooperation between Hungary and Balkan countries.
