Crysal Levesque is an Associate Professor in Swine Nutrition at South Dakota State University's Department of Animal Science. Her research focuses on maternal nutrient requirements, alternative feed additives, and swine gut health. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta and has postdoctoral experience at institutions like the University of Guelph and Prairie Swine Centre. She teaches undergraduate swine production and graduate communication courses. Levesque has received several awards, including the 2017 Women of Distinction honor, and serves on committees for the American Society of Animal Science and Nutrition. Her work emphasizes sustainable swine production, reducing antibiotic use, and improving sow nutrition to enhance offspring robustness.
