Crystal Boudreaux is an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Duquesne University's College of Osteopathic Medicine (DUQCOM). Previously, she served at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Nicholls State University and a Ph.D. in Viral Immunology from Mississippi State University, followed by post-doctoral training in molecular virology at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC.
Her research focuses on cellular mechanisms driving virus replication, using rotavirus and coronavirus as models. She has secured extramural funding and is dedicated to training medical students. Recognized for teaching excellence, she received the President's Outstanding Faculty Award in 2020 and was honored as one of West Virginia's 40 Under 40 in 2022 for community engagement and research leadership. She directs a high school-focused summer camp and co-hosts the podcast The Community Hour.
Dr. Boudreaux's awards highlight her contributions to education and community outreach. She has held roles in academic affairs and continues to bridge research with public engagement through innovative programs and collaborations.
