Cristina Stanica is an Associate Teaching Professor of Public Policy and Administration at Northeastern University's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, where she serves as Graduate Program Director for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Public Policy (MPP) programs. Her teaching focuses on experiential, democratized, and interdisciplinary learning, with emphasis on practical engagement through courses like Techniques of Policy Analysis and Principles of Public Administration, alongside electives such as Comparative Public Policy and Administration.
Her research explores New Public Governance in Central and Eastern Europe, with specific interests in:
- Administrative burdens in street-level bureaucracy
- Co-production dynamics
- Trust in government
- Comparative public administration
She has received multiple accolades from the American Society for Public Administration, including the Jeanne-Marie Col Leadership Award and the Julia J. Henderson International Award. Stanica actively contributes to academic leadership as Chair-elect of the Section on International and Comparative Administration (2023-2024) and as an Editorial Board Member for Public Administration and Development (2024-ongoing).
