Cristina Negri is the Director of the Environmental Science (EVS) Division at Argonne National Laboratory, overseeing environmental research conducted by approximately 160 staff and collaborators. Her work spans over 30 years, focusing on strategic programmatic direction for multidisciplinary projects in environmental remediation, stewardship, and sustainable technologies for urban and agricultural processes.

Her research integrates bioenergy within working agricultural landscapes, addressing the food-energy-water-land nexus. She develops multifunctional landscape concepts designed to create ecosystem services through systems approaches rooted in industrial ecology and applied to water/land management and green infrastructure. Her publications reflect expertise in soil health, bioenergy crops, and environmental policy.
